What we can all learn from Morgan Freeman’s Interludes on 21 Savage x Metro Boomin latest album Savage Mode II

Morgan Freeman interludes will definitely be a requirement for each new album…trust me. Track 13 is my personal favourite.

Let’s start with the Intro.

Great men with great ideals can be separated by hundreds or even thousands of miles and still be in the same place
They can be years or even generations apart in age
And yet, somehow, find themselves on the exact same page
When these men join forces to put the focus of reaching the same goals, to attain the same outcomes, they are not two, but one
Instead of simply adding one’s common attributes to another’s, they somehow tend to multiply all attributes of both
Whether from St. Louis or East Atlanta
Whether from a savage land or a booming metropolis
Whether they are two or two billion, the greatest their numbers could ever become, is to truly become one
I now present to you Savage Mode II”

Is there even something to add here ? Morgan Freeman is basically telling us off bat that life holds its own magic when you let it be. Let yourself be the best version of yourself, at your own pace for you will always be at the right time and at the right place if you follow your gut. Following your instincts is so to say focusing on what you believe in. On your path, you will then meet the right people, sharing your goals and aspirations, and attain the same outcomes.

Track 2 : Runnin.

Are things better or worse the second time around?
Can we really do anything more than once?

This got me. I’ll let you answer that but before let’s think about it quick : Things would technically be better the second time around for you already know what you’re dealing with. However, if we are talking about a harmful thing like getting shot, it’s definitely worse. You don’t want to go through the same pain two times right ?

And… yes.

Track 6 : Slidin’.

When your vision is crystal clear, they say it’s razor-sharp
A focused mind is said to be like a knife, but the scalpel is wisdom
All one can do is accept that life is a double-edged sword
Stay on the edge

“Issaknife.”

21 Savage and cutlery is a sweet and sour relationship. In this outro, Herr Freeman makes an emphasis on knifes and how they can be corelated to what we call “mindset”. A focused mind would be a knife for its drastic use and a scalpel would be wisdom for its precision. Life would then be a double-edged sword made of good and bad, right and wrong, choices and fatality and yes and no’s. Make sure you stay on the edge tho.

Track 7 : Many Men.

Many men wish death upon —
Many men wish death upon —
Many men wish death upon me
Blood in my eye, dawg, and I can’t see
I’m tryin’ to be what I’m destined to be
And niggas tryin’ to take my life away

The evil man envies the good in others
What this means is all hatred is really born from hatred itself
And can only serve to aid in one’s own destruction
This is the downfall of many men

50 Cents lyrics have and will always sound like music to many more men. You already know the song; let’s get to Morgan Freeman’s wisdom. — Let me say this : if you hold a cup of coffee standing and get shoved by someone, coffee will come out your cup. Not tea. Same for your feelings. The hate you receive from someone was already there in the first time. Carry on, you don’t wanna get in between someone’s demons.

Track 8 : Snitches And Rats (Interlude).

A regular citizen who reports seeing a crime isn’t a “snitch” or a “rat,” the criminals were just sloppy
Snitches and rats are not the same thing, let me break it down to make sure y’all see what I mean
A “snitch” is someone minding other folks’ business
To find information they can sell for a price or trade for some other form of compensation
A “rat” is a traitor, a conceiver, planner or physical participator
He doesn’t sell secrets for power or cash, he betrays the trust of his team or his family hoping to save his own cowardly ass
The difference is, at least a snitch is human, but a rat is a fuckin’ rat, period

In a time where 69 is called a snitch for trying to save his life, just like any human being would have done, Morgan Freeman makes a powerful statement on the intrisic difference between Snitches who sell and trade information for a compensation and Rats who are flat traitors. Period. Remember, 21 would rather loyalty than love. You might understand why now.

Track 13 : No Opp Left Behind.

A wise man knows not to have a lot of enemies
The friction of constant conflict is a distraction in life
And left unchecked can end up being what subtracts him from life
If possible, all enemies should be eliminated

Let me start by saying that hearing that inspired me to write this post. This outro is based on wisdom and should teach you something too. “The friction of constant conflict is a distraction in life //and left unchecked can end up being what substracts him from life.” I’ll let you meditate on that. Freeman is basically telling us that from now on, confrontation might not be the smartest move. Drake also once said that a wise man once said nothing at all. I like that.

Track 14 : RIP LUV.

This track was dedicated to one of 21 bestfriends.

Truly genuine love never really dies
But lust, infatuation and unrevealed attraction are all things that over time rarely survive

If you know 21 Savage, you know that he is an old soul. From Diana Ross to Anita Baker, sweet romantic songs are always inspiring and lifting his mood up. His first love broke his heart and that dictated his vision on love and women. True love never dies. Sex and attraction rarely prosper.

Track 15 : Said n Done.

Last track. It was then said…and done.

When all is said and done
We can only judge, punish, reward, enslave, and free ourselves
There will always be doubters and haters, but they only have the power you give them
Remain focused, move forward, and never lose faith in yourself
Until next time, stay in Savage Mode
Because anything else would be too damn civilized
Peace

Listen to Morgan’s Freeman voice, meditate on it and never stop working on yourself. Life is what YOU make it. As Uncle Steve said, Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% what you do about it.

So…what’s your next move ?

Full thanks and credit to GENIUS for the lyrics.
